Presenter Biographical Statement
Gary Rosenfeld has spent his entire career in the transportation industry and has worked at all levels of the profession, where he’s served as President, General Manager or Chief Executive Officer of public transit organizations. Since 2016, he has led the Memphis Area Transit Authority in Tennessee.
During his 35 years of experience, Rosenfeld has built a track record for his industry knowledge and insight while embracing the new mobility paradigm that will drive transportation authorities into the future.
His multi-modal expertise has helped turn around or rescue potential agency shutdowns, guide transit startups and enable existing operations to remain viable and sustainable. He has run small, mid-sized and large transportation authorities from California to Memphis and managed annual revenues in excess of $1.5 billion.
Rosenfeld’s impeccable experience extends to the private sector where he launched his own transportation consulting firm that secured more than $600 million in public contracts and $980 million in venture capital for clients while he was in business.
Presentation Abstract
This workshop will highlight various microtransit models across diverse geographic settings. Presenters will share lessons learned and considerations for implementing a microtransit services. There will be an opportunity for small group discussion and dialogue about how microtransit service can align with a range of mobility and transit services across an agency.
